INDUSTRY

Charity

The wonderful folks at Animal Free Research UK believe that experiments on animals are scientifically and ethically unjustifiable, and that pioneering animal free research provides the best chance of finding treatments for human diseases.

They asked us to build a brand new database showcasing all the antibodies created without using animals during research.

We designed and built a fully custom WordPress solution that allows for both Animal Free Research UK and their approved suppliers to upload and maintain the vast antibody database.

Our custom built solution

We engineered a custom WordPress platform built to scale, managing an integrated database of over 80,000+ antibody records. To keep administration effortless for the client, we built an automated vendor management system where approved third-party suppliers apply for accounts, manage profiles, and bulk-import inventory via standardised CSV templates. Custom background queue workers handle the heavy data processing, automatically adding, replacing, or merging records without requiring any manual oversight.

Built for the users

On the front end, researchers can instantly search and filter listings by provider, antibody type, target species, category, and more. Operating as a completely free resource for both researchers and suppliers, the platform dramatically lowers the barrier to finding ethical tools while demonstrating how complex database architecture can be fast, intuitive, and hands-off.
